In Vain 10 November 2017

Description

in vain, it is first of all a reaction of the Austrian composer Georg Friedrich Haas to the rise of the extreme right in his country in the late 1990s. But in vain, it is above all an extraordinary sensory experience , that of a kaleidoscopic music which is not unlike the spectral movement. There are endless, dizzying harmonic sequences that succeed one another or are interwoven, rapid or stretched to the extreme. Strange soundscapes form, superimpose and then merge into the musical continuum. This work, which is already “cult”, is also partly played in the dark, with the effect of focusing attention on the sonorous world that unfolds in space, and even more in ourselves.
