The works of this program led to Cortege of Birtwistle which the performers take turns to the rhythm of melodic arabesque they are transmitted, finding themselves soloists in turn.

This strange ceremony procession Harrison Birtwistle. It is even a real performance, mesmerizing ballet. Arranged in a semi circle, fourteen musicians go, one after another, separate from the whole and advance the center of the stage to play each solo, then withdraw and return to the circle (but never the same place), soon replaced by another in the free space. A scholar and touching ritual that marks the absence of a missing (Michael Vyner, artistic director of the London Sinfonietta, the set that created the work) and, from singular to plural, because each of the soloists the officiant of the celebration.
